Class Dates and Times

Upon successful completion, you will receive American Red Cross Certifications in the following classes:

  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED ( 9 hours )
  • Oxygen Administration ( 2 hours )
  • Bloodborne Pathogens ( 2 hours )
  • Lifeguard Training (16 hours )
  • First Aid for Public Safety Personnel -Title 22 ( 13 hours)
Important Note: First Aid for Public Safety Personnel - Title 22 is required to work as a Lifeguard in the state of California.

The cost of the class is $205 which includes:

  • a digital version of the 2012 lifeguard manual: Lifeguard Training Manual

  • an Emergency Response book for the Title 22 portion, that may be checked out during the duration of the class.

    If you would like us to purchase your books from the Red Cross we will for an additional $65. The above cost also includes a pocket mask, AED and video rentals, along with support service fees required by the American Red Cross.


  1. Age: 15 years of age -OR- 15 years of age by the last class

  2. A 300-yard continuous swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Swimming on the
    back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed.

  3. Tread water 2 minutes without support and without stopping, only the legs can be used. Candidates
    should place their hands under the armpits and head must remain above the surface
    of the water.

  4. Must be able to swim 20 yrds, starting in the water. Your face may be in or out of the water, surface dive 7-10ft, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yrds back to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so you are able to get a breath. You may not swim the distance under water. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Swim goggles are not allowed.

SIDE NOTE: You must be extremely dedicated in passing these classes. Only the most intense participants will successfully complete the lifeguard training and possibly have lifeguarding jobs this summer.



CLASS RULES


These rules will be strictly enforced while in the class room and while in the pool area.

1.) NO GUM CHEWING

2.) NO EATING IN THE CLASS ROOM

3.) NO GLASS CONTAINERS

4.) NO DRINKING OF BEVERAGES ( THIS INCLUDES WATER ) We will take breaks

5.) CLASS ROOM WILL BE CLEAN DAILY BEFORE LEAVING


This class room is being used because of the TV and DVD needed to teach this class. The teacher in this class room is willing to let us hold the class and thus the reasons for the rules, so that future classes will be allowed to continue.
